Too Much Cringe to Handle, Comedy Too Silly to Digest, and an Overdose of Illogical Sequences
01. What’s Mana Shankara Varaprasad Gaaru up to?
The film revolves around Shankara Varaprasad, an NSG officer played by Megastar Chiranjeevi, whose marriage with the wealthy Sasirekha (Nayanthara) collapses due to misunderstandings. What follows is supposedly a journey of reconciliation — how Shankara Varaprasad fixes his broken married life.
That’s the story on paper.
On screen, there is barely a story.
The film attempts to present Chiranjeevi in a full-fledged comic role — something the director believes is “mass entertainment.” But honestly, this attempt feels more like self-degradation than reinvention. Chiranjeevi, a legend who has lived every possible emotion on screen, has absolutely nothing left to prove. Watching him reduced to cringe comedy, serial-level situations, and illogical slapstick is genuinely painful.
It’s not experimentation.
It’s embarrassment.
02. Is it worth the watch?
My immediate reaction?
Pure irritation.
The film is a collection of nonsense scenes stitched together without logic, rhythm, or intent. Childish writing, lazy humour, forced comedy tracks, and cringe masquerading as entertainment — nothing works.
Did it meet expectations?
Absolutely not. Not that expectations were high to begin with.
Who might enjoy it?
People who treat cinema as random time-pass, who enjoy loud cringe, recycled jokes, unnecessary callbacks, old dialogue references, and popular-song nostalgia with zero substance. This isn’t even strictly for fans or commercial cinema lovers — opinions there will be divided too.
Who might not?
Anyone who expects:
A basic storyline
Logical progression
Genuine comedy
Or even minimal respect for cinema
I love Chiranjeevi’s comic timing — Chantabbai, Rowdy Alludu, and many classics prove that.
But this is not comedy.
This is pure cringe.
03. What clicks?
Honestly, very little.
If something must be mentioned:
Chiranjeevi’s flamboyant screen presence
His evergreen grace
Hook step song
His effort to look younger than his age
That’s it.
No scene stood out.
No comedy landed.
No emotional beat worked.
Message or theme?
None.
Technical Aspects
Music & BGM: Horrendous. Continuous drum-banging makes scenes unintentionally funny — not because of comedy, but because of how badly synced it is.
Cinematography: Okay-ish, but meaningless when the film itself doesn’t care.
Editing / Screenplay: Do they even exist? Scenes appear and disappear without reason. Continuity is a joke.
Freshness?
Forget it.
04. What went wrong?
Everything.
No story
No logic
No pacing
No screenplay
No emotional grounding
While performances aren’t the main issue, reality must be acknowledged:
Chiranjeevi is ageing, and though he carries dignity and effort, the physical gap shows. This isn’t a criticism — it’s natural. But forcing him into such cringe roles only highlights that gap instead of celebrating his legacy.
Nayanthara gets a cakewalk role — nothing memorable.
Venkatesh’s extended cameo, meant to “boost” entertainment, only adds more cringe.
The biggest problem?
The director doesn’t take cinema seriously. He assumes branded stars + festive release + random jokes = success. That might work with sections of the audience, but it alienates viewers who respect cinema as an art or even as structured entertainment.
05. Finally? 🤮
This film is exhausting, irritating, and deeply disappointing — especially because it involves a legend like Chiranjeevi.
Strictly an OTT watch — and only if you enjoy cringe.
If you have extra money and want to burn it on nonsense this festive season, theatres are open.
Who should watch it?
Family audiences who enjoy loud, illogical comedy
Cringe lovers
Anil Ravipudi fans
Who should skip it?
People like me
Anyone who expects even a basic film
One Strong Closing Line:
A legend deserves better than this cringe-filled disrespect in the name of comedy.
