"Hey Sinamika" is utter nonsense, monotonous, out-dated & absolute waste of time!!
1/5
I don't think if I can rate it below that!!
Before I begin anything I dunno why ace talented actors like Dulquer Salmaan wanted to do such a cringe of a script? Only he & god should know why he choose such a script!!
Brindha master- her debut directorial, but what did she even think before sculpturing this? Did she have any thought? Or is it that she took audience for granted & mashed up few commercial elements, cringe comedy & senseless plot & made into a film expecting flying colours!! Everything apart, directly faring what's good & bad.
01. What is 'Hey Sinamika ' in & out?
In my opinion, it's a repetitive genre that almost all yesteryear directors have tried & tried until the audience got saturated or something above that saturation limit has struck their heads. So, Brindha master brought in that outdated script gave it her colours & paints with a contemporary touch. To be Frank it's "Shubhalagnam lite" for all the telugu audience. So, it's basically about an irritating husband (Dulquer Salmaan) & a bored wife (Adithi Hydari) who wants a seperation from him & hires a lady indeed with beauty (Kajal Agarwal) to lure her husband & finally ending up in chaos, jealousy, pain, wanting & finally togetherness, isn't this the same genre that is hitting all Telugu & Tamil films every now & then from past 4-5 decades & we had enough & again why? I ask why Brindha does this?? Hopeless, clueless, speachless!!
02. About the plot!
Is there any?!! The trailer itself is a prediction that film's plot sums upto everything within that 2 mins. The plot lacks freshness, it isn't natural at all but a lot of mocking & artificial things happen in the film. Barely one could brace themselves with patience watching the entire film, there isn't atleast one, I repeat one moment where I felt good about this film. If at all an exception to be made, it's only about the message that Brindha portrays in the film from beginning to end- "No Bias- All men & women are equal", however such strong concept though highlighted to an extent gets diluted with the boring narration & Unbearable screenplay.
03. What about Yaazhan? Is Dulquer Salmaan a fit? What his character tells about?
Yaazhan is an absolute pique character, each time he's on screen I got irritated like his wife got! He's a chatter box- keeps on talking nonstop, he's such talkative that he doesn't even let go the newspaper & milk man! His lengthy unwanted conversations, elaborations & reasonings will trigger one's patience. "Nuisance" this term sums up his entire character.
Dulquer Salmaan as Yaazhan is quite impressive, but this isn't new from this particular actor, he's far capable, worthy & durable, but why he choose such lame character is a big question to me?! "Action skills"?? Which skills people are talking about, Dulquer Salmaan is a far better actor & this character is not his cup of tea, he definitely deserves alot better than this cringe. His action in this particular film is like nonstop nonsense, he's either speaking or doing weired things, he appeared dull, gloomy & talkative, just talkative that's it. I dunno if he had practised pages of useless dialogues for some baseless situations. Maybe, if he irritated audience to an extent, that proved that he's the best actor.
There are lot of scenes where we find him unnecessarily talking & I don't feel such & such scene deserves a place in the film. Yaazhan is a house husband & also a RJ later, both of the characters neither impress. There is a scene in the beginning where the couple discuss about 'Luwok' coffee in the washroom(awkward right?) & Hydari is vomiting, than he says it isn't about "Waak- (Vomiting)" but it's about "Luwok",same way one gets a sensation of puke each time watching Dulquer enact his scenes in this film, his acting in particular in some scenes oozes the intrest, particularly the words- they lack sense & he continuously recites them without a break & that's the headache. I think the characterization itself is wrong, if at all he has got an infuriating trait of hyper talkativness- that should be presented neatly, but this film- My God 🤦- better I'll leave it here, I'am fed up!! Dialogues are too bad- they got no meaning in particular- I dunno if I had to laugh or cry in some scenes, I again regret on DQ choosing such lame & cringe concepts.
04. What about Adithi & Kajal?
They are there, yes they are there in the film! Entire first half is eaten by Yaazhan with his cringe & nauseous- nonstop chatter & Moana (Adithi) however finds place, emoting well- I feel this is the only charcter in the entire film with some decency written all over, She loves- hates-loves Yaazhan, she's asked to do just that & she is a queen in executing her role. There is one particular scene where Moana loudly cries- Yaazhan & I laughed ironically, such bad is the screenplay but one word - Adithi the saviour. Malar (Kajal) the other lead who has come to lure Adithi's husband & does her part well too, ofcourse there is nothing much about her & her character in response to this film, it's limited, more like an extended cameo.
05. Any positives? Add ons? Plus?
May be just one, that is the theme of "Equality - No bias". In one scene Yaazhan dresses as her wife & attends a wedding & creates a havoc, ofcourse DQ's acting & the dialogues at that particular junction appeared too awkward more or less like a gay, though making us realise that it's intentional to highlight the theme - "It's ok if there is a house husband at home & a working lady- the earning member in the house- it's still called the same sweet home" no bias! Men & women all are equal, that appears nice. May be only this & only this touched my heart in the entire boredom.
06. Brindha & her debut, how did it go?
Sorry', Brindha master, it's a flop for you. Film lacks soul, sense & everything. If repetition is only the problem, it could be over looked, but it is also about the bad screenplay, entire first half goes on for Yaazhan & his nonsense which is pre-assumed as comedy? How is it even comical? No way- it's outdated!! Entire second half engaged in developing Malar & Yaazhan's bond & Adithi's jealousy to it & that's monotonous, already seen, predicted & not any more, hardly bareable drama!! Neither the climax is good! Lacks clarity. There's even a motivational rap sung by DQ himself in Tamil & yet another singer in Telugu, which too appears routine & offers nothing fresh. So on a whole, it's a disastrous attempt by the debut director. Even the talented & lead cast couldn't elevate the scenes!!
07. The telugu version- Dubbing, dialogues etc? Technical Departments?
It's not a well dubbed film. All the dialogues appear crisp, uncooked! They aren't written, they are just translated from Tamil to Telugu, & 50% of the dialogues appear Tamil rather Telugu. My question is when one unit cannot maintain standards of particular language, why is there a necessity to dub into that language? Only the star cast's stardom willnt alone put the movie on sky, there are so many things for a film to reach an elevation & this film lacks all those elements & just depends on star studded cast for success & that is merely impossible for such a film with such a story line. Dialogues don't have any meaning,. Just thrown here & there randomly, neither evokes laugh nor they aren't serious. DQ dubbing for himself, has done a fair job, but no use, it's a constant nonstop nonsense, I pity at him for having practised pages of useless dialogues- already mentioned! The Dubbing to other two leads isn't good yet not too bad!
Music & other technical departments didn't strike any point, dubbed version has so many flaws, they don't meet minimum margins atleast. The fish rock as a Telugu song came as a huge headache, I felt sad for Govinda Vasantha for ruining his own compositions. I wasn't able to concentrate on all of them with such infuriating & boring screenplay.
08. So what's the final word?
Hey Sinamika is a very badly written film with some infuriating acts from the star actor & a very loosely matched screenplay with strong sense of "Nonsense" written all over. I strongly don't recommend this film to you all.
