"Hridayam" the block buster Malayalam film from 2022, but am absolutely late to the party, and now I regret for not witnessing this epic before! No more delays, I'll take you all through my experiences with this film.

"Absolutley A Feel- Good Film"

01. What is all with "Hridayam"?

Hridayam is almost like a "Life Travel Documentary" of our lead actor- Arun Neelakandan (Pranav Mohanlal). We go through his entire proceedings & happenings that spanned between 17-30 yrs of his life. Vineeth Srinivasan says it is his real life experiences, and that sounded really surprising, that he had so much in his life. The way the beautiful melliflouos tracks incorprated into the film will surely remind of Vineeth's great music taste. 

Hridayam is all about "Arun Neelakandan"- completely- from in & out. Being a Kerala origin, Arun comes to Chennai by boarding a train to pursue his Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at KC Tech College, & there he goes through so much that decides his fate & life. You have to really watch the film to know what it is so much special about Arun Neelakandan.

02. Plot of "Hridayam" (SPOILER ALERT)

Any detail about this film would be a spoiler, because the entire film had so many good oments that would evoke positive feelings. So, we don't know for whom, which scene would touch their hearts. so, I gave an alert warning at the beginning itself. Even I'll not ooze your intrest by telling the entire story, but here's a breif about "Hridayam", go fall down to read along-

"Hridayam opens to Arun boarding a train to Chennai to pursue engg at KC Tech Engineering college, & there he is introduced to few other peers of same region- all hailing from "Kerala" & tagged as "Mallu Gang". In no time they all are friends, later there are seniors who all are Malayalees too, they rag these junior students in a typical way- (watch the film to know the suspense). In proceedings, he meets a beautiful girl "Darshana" who's  a student in the same college. He falls for her, but after unforsceen circumstances taking over, they break up & Arun is frustrated. He turns tough, he is habituated to alcohol, jealousy, porn & what not. There he gets a gang of  tosspots as his best peers & the non-sense they create thereafter will irriate all of us. But, in no time he realizes his worth & comes out of that filth. Again he has made friends with yet another gang- which includes Darshana too, who study hard & evoke positivity all around. There once again the broken relationship between Arun & Darshana starts flowering, but yet again some unforesceen circumstances take over. Then the entire second half is about what he has done to get his career on path. Watch the film to know the rest.

03. What is making "Hridayam" so special?

Hridayam is a package of feel good moments, a person's life journey proceedings, his encounters with different scenarios, his anger, his love, his pain, his laugh, his happiness, his memories & above all some great music. I always had a feeling like what is so much interesting for anyone to know about some 'X' person's life-and why people have to always make such films with such backdrops? But, now I'll take my words back- after watching Hridayam I can understand why ppl connect so much to such films with such backdrops. Hridayam is almost like a tale that every engineering person can relate too. It is really special one for me though, I loved the film. Didn't love any film in much recent like this one.

04. What is about Pranav, Darshana & Kalyani?

Pranav is the lead cast & the entire film revolves around him, he's the centre part of attraction. This is the first film A'm watching of him & definaitley he reminds of his father in few scenes- though it was'nt that effective as the legend- but his looks will surely remind all of us of his father. Pranav was a right fit, but felt like he needs to be bit more open, effective & expressive, he's rather on a dull & lite side. But no issues, it was'nt bad & unbearble though. But he has to improve in terms of acting.

Darshana, she has my heart- the first film I watched of her was "C U Soon" & she's a queen. She's something special & unique, she carries an aura along with her- whenever she's on screen there's her magic cast for sure. She's there throughout the length of the film & she'll just flutter all way through.

Kalyani gets her space only towards the later half. She too lies on that dull side, I dunno why, but she'll never impress with her acting, it looks weak, dull, pale & uninteresting & I hate her acting however. Only her good looks save her in the industry, but she needs lot of improvementin terms of acting.

05. Vineeth Srinivasan?

I was quite surprised to know that this film is directed by Vineeth Srinivasan, Am a fan of his songs & his voice,  hut from now on his films. What an epic this film is. A 3 hr long tale, with not even one dull point in the entire film will make us go bonkers. I loved the way he has conceived the film. Though the later part at beginning gets diluted for no reason, but that was'nt unbearable though. Hope we'll get some more such feel-good films from Vineeth in nearer time again. After we finish watching the film, it is only Arun Neelakandan & his explorations that remince in front our eyes- HRIDAYAM!

06. Hesham Abdul & his contributions to Hridayam.

One of the major reasons, why this film is a hit, is because of Hesham's music too. That lovely score will keep haunting us through out the film. It is this man's music that is just taking us to another world. There are 15 tracks in the film!! And do you think, atleast one of the song went unnoticed? Probably  none! Everything is a masterpiece about music in this film. That haunting Violin BGM at particular juncture in the film will take our hearts right away, I dunno how did he make all those tracks. Darshana- you already know- what it is to the music lover! "Minnal Kodi" & "Mukilinte" sung by Chitra chechi before the interval bang will bring down tears in eyes. Onnaka Munthiri, Nagumomu & Manasse will also steal our hearts. Kuddos Hesham, awards awaiting for you in the store.

07. Technicalities?

Wonderful cinematography! Every frame is crystal clear- looks like water- so claer. All the frames are so vibrant & touching. Editing is on a safe side, it is'nt a neatly edited film, yet not a badly edited film too. But, overall the best screenplay & direction will make us overlook the minute flaws too. 

08. My suggestion.

Go watch it if you havn't yet!! You'll surely regret if you wait further. It is just a masterpiece. I thoroughly loved the film. "A feel good film" that straight away touches your heart.
