"Ultra-Stylish But Still Lacks Originality"

01. 'Bro' in & all.

Bro the telugu language supernatural film that is a remake of Tamil film Vinodaya Sitam directed by Samuthirakani. Bro is a complete adaptation of the original film but there are many alterations in the characterization that makes it different from the original film. Powerstar is always an added attraction, say whichever film it is.

02. Plot of Bro.

Sai Tej as Markandeyulu is a busy rich employee working in some multi-national textile company & is a very calculated person. He calculates time & money strictly that even giving time to his personal life is a business for him. One day he meets with an accident & loses life. Pawan Kalyan as 'Titan' is the God who's come to preach Markandeyulu & make him realise the importance of relationship, life & time, most importantly to tell him how to balance between time & personal life. Rest everything is about Sai Tej's realisation.

03. Performances.

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is an asset to this film. He carries the entire film on his shoulders. His swag & dialogues create an aura of snazzy atmosphere. I don't think if someone else other than Pawan Kalyan enacted this role, the film's success would be dubious. When ever he's on screen, for sure the audience are mesmerized. His looks are too ultra-modern & it's almost a feast to his fans to watch him like that.

Sai Tej, though appears the same dull, feeble actor like his previous outing Virupaksha. Can understand his limitations after the mishap but according to me he needs to rest now. His acting isn't bad or worst but the expressions & emotions didn't sync at all, they appear too forced. His grace in dance & fights also seems to be lost. Hope he gives a good comeback soon.

Rohini as Markandeyulu's mother is just extraordinary. However small the role can be, but she makes her mark pellucid. That's an example of how a veteran can make an unimportant or a role of just mediocre importance gets some weightage with their performances.
Tanikella Bharani, Priya Warrier & others have small roles & they did their best.

03. What attracts the most in Bro?

a. I think it's the theme that Bro carries all along, same like the source film Vinodaya Sitam. Director makes it interesting, the concept of everyone who's born certainly dies on some day & time is no one's slave & no one can have authority over it. Time doesn't wait for anyone, your existence doesn't matter for others who live after you leave this material world, no matter who they are- mother, father, family, friends, relatives etc, things take shape irrespective of your existence, we shouldn't be carried by immaterial things- enjoy as much life as you can. Samuthirakani perfectly executes the theme.

b. As always told,  Pawan Kalyan is an asset to this film. Without him this film is nothing. All his presence evokes a good feeling in audience. Rehash of too many of his old & vintage songs are just for his fans, however it's nice to watch that vintage Powerstar.

c. Music score by Thamman is just extraordinary. Cinematography is top notch.

d. Second half is way good as it justifies the events that happened in first half & also it's neatly placed.

04. What actually makes us feel 'Why Bro' ?

a. The lag. Entire first half is a mixture of unorganised raw events just placed like that. Only towards the end we will know the reason for so & so happening. Untill then film literally plummets.
b. Bro suffers from weak writing & poor plot same like the source film Vinodaya Sitam.
c. Addition of too many remixes of Pawan Kalyan's old songs is just a publicity stunt to attract his fans otherwise is of really no importance to the plot.
d. Screenplay has flaws. Events in the film are not organised well. If not for Pawan Kalyan entire first half is a complete lag.
e. Editing is of not that great quality. It needs fixes.

05. My review & opinion.

If you are a person who wants a good story & a brilliant screenplay - then this' not your film. You can watch it once & more then a theatre watch, you can give it an OTT preference.

If you are a fan of Pawan Kalyan, irrespective of the story you'll love his swag & presence in the film.

Finally, according to me it's just a mediocre commercial film. Not necessarily to watch it in theatres, but can give it a watch it if you want to & I'll recommend a one time watch .
