"An Out & Out Atlee Tempered Commercial" 

01. All about 'Jawan'.

Jawan the latest Hindi language film directed by the Tamil sensational Atlee is doing well at the box-office & has garnered enough postive WOM, so here's my view. 

Jawan is the same Robinhood kind or Tagore, Mersal type film that comes with an extravaganza & that's Shahrukh Khan. We can't expect anything new from this story, but it's a superb action commercial with all thrilling elements & especially featuring Shahrukh Khan in a never before role. 

Jawan is basically about a socially sick person who's a sadist too & has a gang of women with him who all combinedly attack illegal politicians, ruthless criminals & henious gangsters for some goodwill purposes or to instill righteousness. The film has a very simple & yet another repetition of normal commercial film's storyline that comes with exuberance as already told. Don't expect anything from the story & watch it, then you'll find something, otherwise it's just another mass masala commercial outing for a normal cinema goer. 

02. What's actually good in Jawan.

Shahrukh Khan! Yes, he's the show steeler, he has got to breathe in a character that is something that he has never ever done before & ofcourse his fans would embrace on this for few more years. Those introduction shots, specially designed action sequences make the audience to go bonkers. 

The story that begins with some action packed sequences, especially the first 30-45 mins of the film is a peak, it strikes the highest altitude. Atlee knows the pulse of audience & has designed a spectacular first half for the audience. 

The emotional stories & backstories in first half are yet again another major plus to the film. 

Cinematography & music are beyond perfection. Anirudh is a very big part of this film's success, as his BGM speaks volumes in the film. 

Interval bang is one more iconic things in the film, while the entire first half makes a super soft cushion for the second half & that's the brilliance of the director. 

Performances are top notch, do we need to speak about the King's performance? He's the best right! Nayanataara & Vijay Sethupathi too rocked their respective performances & a pat to Priyamani too. 

03. Drawbacks.

The plot itself is a drawback. Atlee chooses another conventional & already known concepts & tries to add his dash, which however falls flat.

After a superbly delivered first half, the later part of the story has nothing much but same old repeated scenes & already predicted or known twists & much of unwanted action with punch of irrelevance. 

As Atlee has choosen a very old subject, he has got his intellect to test & has really complicated the happenings. It's a very simple story but the narrative is very typical, unconventional which oozes the interest. As the film progresses complexity increases, which is a major defect in the film. 

The backstories of Jawan as Jawan & few other justifications in second part are much weird & awkward which evoke no feel at all. 

Despite the heavy message or preaching, the hero vs villian line is just irritating & one more passable kind tracks. 

04. Final Verdict.

I however liked the film for the extravaganza & ofcourse for the King Khan's performance. It's like a dream come true moment for every Shahrukh Khan fan & this film is surely an embracement. 

Now-a-days we cannot expect much from these new age pictures, which have no importance to plot & storylines but are packed with commercial elements to attract the audience. So, I think we should slowly get used to these kind genres. 

If not for the same old kind storyline, this film just clicks in for some top notch action sequences, emotional drama & a message that comes alongside. 

It's a film that one has to watch in theaters as that feeling may not be intact when watched on OTT & others. 

It's a sure recommendation from my side 👍
