Utter Rubbish & Noxious

[Disclaimer: Lot of bold words used while writing the review]

01. Animal in brief.

Animal marks a new beginning to Indian cinema & at the same time is also an alarming sign to future generations of cinema to be careful with the content. Keeping that aside, Animal is basically a family drama of Balbeer Singh (Anil Kapoor) & his free spirited, extra violent, psychologically ill-son(Ranbir Kapoor). The entire plot is only between these two characters & rest others do the role play for which they were ought to.

This socially sick son is very violent, harmful, dangerous same like that character in Arjun Reddy, but the dosage is on a higher level here. This perfectly spoiled brat goes to any extent to save his father. This aristocrat Balbeer Singh's family owns a steel manufacturing company - Swastik & in managing that huge company, Balbeer Singh has a life threat from his own family members. How he's saved from such a threat & why it happens is something to watch for in the film.

02. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

I actually think that a dialogue from his previous film aptly justifies him. "A whole lot of free spirited attitude or nature is absolutely dangerous to the society", this can be vigilantly applied to his attitude of writing cinema stories. I don't know what he thinks of himself, but this attempt or intent should be condemned. It's ok until he wants to show that the extra brutal protagonist goes to any extent to save his father, but is it ok if he uses war machines, gun machines to kill hundreds just like that? Is it ok if he blabbers bull-shit every now & then? Is it ok if he keeps on adding vulgar content to the film just like that? Is it ok to show up the whole dirty side of a world just for the sake?? According to me nothing is ok with respect to this useless cringe film!

03. Glorification of grey characters in Indian cinema.

This is something or a genre that Indian cinema hasn't explored before, but my straight question to everyone supporting this statement- till which extent? What boundaries? Till where?
Glorification of grey characters is fine, but for what use? I know that every cinema needn't teach or give something to society always, but neither it shouldn't spread hatred, filth & dirt just like that right? This movie doesn't have a reasoning for why so much violence & dirty content is used for a story between disoriented father & son. I mean it doesn't deserve to be so bad.

04. Performances & technical aspects.

Ranbir Kapoor is a star & nevertheless he's amazing but I pity him for choosing such a wild & bold content. In order to do something unique & unprecedented, people are doing worst & dirty. That's what I can opine about this film & it's performances. Anil Kapoor & Rashmika have depth in characters & are executed very well too.

Music & score by various musicians is just like a wow. In the entire lengthy tiresome movie, songs & score were the real saviours. Editing is actually ok, I think atleast 30-40 mins can be right away chopped from the final cut, because the existence of such scenes doesn't make any impact on overall experience of the film. Cinematography & production values are high & each frame looked solid.

05. Any highs & lows.

To view the above, we need two different perspectives. One, a stereotypical free mindset & other a filthy mindset & if any rest others, can directly avoid watching this movie. Even if you are a stereotypical free person, still there are chances that you will hate this film & that is what exactly happened with me. This content or plot simply doesn't need the extravaganza that was added to it forcibly, just for name sake- PERIOD!

Ranbir Kapoor is a big plus to the film, bow to his guts to enact such a wild boar kind character. Music & score are other things for which you can watch this film.

06. Finally.

First of all I don't understand, who's interested in watching Balbeer Singh & his notorious son's family drama??!
Definitely not me!
It's a big problem to Indian cinema from now to have watching such bold content on screens. If the film demanded such & such bold scene where nudity creeps in, people keep on discussing about sex, jokes on reproduction, talking more & in a much filthy manner about one's own body etc etc then such a film can be forgiven & can be given a passed check sign ☢️, only & only if the content on the film demands such bold action. But, what about a film's content that is wholly irrelevant to the action & drama that's happening within the film? Animal is the same, such unwanted bold 18+ film with simply overrated or overhyped violence & adult content. Even if it's a Hollywood film, such content is a no welcome from my side if it's plot isn't deserving that bold action drama.

If you are a fan of all such dirty fantasies, then it's upto you, if you want the protagonist to speak utter nonsense about one's body, sexlife, nudity, body parts, foul language, later indulge himself in blood with ample violence for no reason, go insane or become tempered for no cause at all, bash everyone like a Superman, behave like a cold blooded criminal or a psychic character etc etc etc...then this film is your cup of tea.

Otherwise for rest all others, my recommendation is a strict no!
