"Less Spicy & Mediocre Content Too"

01. Guntur Kaaram from in to out.

Mahesh Babu's latest film Guntur Kaaram directed by the sensational Trivikram is out & also is already receiving much mixed-negative talk. But here, lemme put in my views.

Guntur Kaaram is almost the same Trivikram's routine family drama that also comes with add ons like weak narrative & spiceless commercial elements. If not for Mahesh Babu's extremely blazing screen presence & superb performance - Guntur Kaaram offers nothing much.

Coming to the plot- it is about Ramana aka Venkata Ramana (Mahesh Babu) who has a haunted & traumatic childhood because of his mother (Ramya Krishnan) abandoning him. Prakash Raj(Ramya Krishnan's father) plays a vital role in seperating the lovely family. Why they are seperated & what happened is something that you have to watch in the film.

02. Why is it only a Mahesh Babu's film?

Trivikram just puts Mahesh Babu into an exciting role which has lot of stuff in it. We all have been waiting for Mahesh Babu to perform this explicitly right?! And, Yes he's here outperforming himself in this flick. Mahesh Babu dances, fights, throws swag with his killer style & dialogue delivery & what not?! So, this is just a Mahesh Babu's film with his electrifying performance. That Guntur slang & his stylish body language just impresses his haters too.

03. Where has Trivikram gone wrong.

Trivikram is a director who keeps rehashing his own flicks & presents it as a new film each time & the same thing repeated here. But Trivikram didn't realise that pigeon holing doesn't work all the time. Guntur Kaaram is a mixture of Ala Vaikunthapuram & Attarintiki Daredi with no highs at all. The story is straightforward but Trivikram's magic isn't there, so this film falls dull. In the entire 2+ hour long tale there isn't one dialogue or scene which appears like Trivikram's magical spell & that is a very big blow to this film.

04. Performances of other leads.

Sreeleela is there just as a dance-glamour attraction & adds no value to the script. Ofcourse she has set the screens on fire with her thrilling dance moves & energy no doubt, but apart from that she has nothing much to offer. Ramya Krishnan as Vasundhara is also limited, but plays a decent character though. Prakash Raj has got a major role & he's a pro like usual always. Jayaram, Vennele Kishore, Eeshwari Rao also get limited screen presence but they all shine in their respective characters. Rao Ramesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Raghu Babu & Sunil are wasted though.

05. Highs & lows.

Highs- Mahesh Babu & his performance.
Lows- Rest of the film.

06. Final Verdict

Music from Thamman is a very boring & uninteresting. Songs are way too feeble & lack punch or energy. Cinematography is all about Babu's close shots & long shots which appears like focus & out focus that's it. Editing has been ok, because there isn't much work for him in this film. Director & script failed terribly to put up a hit show. Except Mahesh Babu - Guntur Kaaram has nothing much to offer.

If to talk on other side, If this wasn't a Mahesh Babu's film then I think the talk would be different - maybe because it is Mahesh Babu & we all expected much more- if not him & talking about the story - it is not a flop story, it is just above average to mediocre, but Mahesh Babu to this script put this on a toss- which could be avoided.

So, according to me - it's neither a bad or good watch, but a good entertaining film & you all can happily enjoy the light hearted commercial tale with your family for this festive season.
